Players Involved
There was a criminal hearing held for all eight of the White Sox players, who were suspected in participating in the fixing of the series. The judge in these trials, Kenesaw Mountain Landis, later became baseball’s first commissioner. The penalty that was given, after the players were found guilty, was lifetime suspensions from professional baseball, and they were all banned from being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
